The Government continues to deliver essential services to the people of Saint Lucia, through the Constituency Development Program

The Constituency Development Programme, CDP, has once again delivered on a community based infrastructural project for the benefit of the people of Saint Lucia.
This week, another roadway in Monchy, Gros Islet, was officially opened under the CDP through financing obtained from the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Representatives from the Government of Saint Lucia joined Taiwan's Ambassador to Saint Lucia, His Excellency James Chang and residents of Cletus Village, Monchy, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the Cletus Jn Baptiste Road.
During her remarks at the activity, Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet, Hon. Emma Hippolyte said several areas of the constituency are in need of good road access.
“When I visit this road there are quite a few elderly persons residing higher up there is a lady with an amputee, there are other who require ambulance services, so it is definitely a necessity that we had to get this particular road repaired. Most of you who know the community of Gros Islet would understand that every community is in need of roads.”
The road has been named after Cletus Jn Baptiste, a resident of Monchy, who allowed his property to be used in the construction of the entrance to the road.
The Cletus Jn Baptiste road in Monchy was constructed at a cost of about EC $113,000 through the Constituency Development Program.
