The auditions timeline has been extended to April to allow for equal opportunity, CPMA says.

The Carnival Planning and Management Agency (CPMA) and the National Carnival Queen Pageant Committee hosted the first leg of the 2015 National Carnival Queen Pageant auditions, last Sunday, at the National Cultural Centre.

Young ladies between the ages of 18 and 23 from communities across the island dazzled the judges and audience. The ladies appeared in swimwear and evening wear, performed a talent piece, and participated an interview segment. They made confident and articulate introductions, displayed unique talent pieces and delivered powerful and thought‐provoking social commentary during their interviews.

Lyndon Arnold, Chairman of the CPMA said that the timeline for pageant auditions will be extended to allow for an equal opportunity for all hopefuls.

"We are still receiving inquiries from young ladies who are interested, some who encountered challenges in meeting the delivery time for documents which form part of the criteria of the application process," he said. "We believe it is therefore only fitting that we extend the timeline so as to allow all hopefuls an equal opportunity."

Mr. Arnold, along with Pageant Committee Chairman, Trevor King, assured the young ladies that this year’s experience will be a rewarding journey, given what the Queen Pageant Committee has in store.

The final audition will be held in April. The CPMA and the newly-revamped Carnival Queen Pageant Committee promises attractive prizes and unique opportunities for the winning contestant. All young ladies between the ages of 18‐23 are encouraged to be a part of this life‐changing experience.
