FROM AUG. 15, INDIVIDUALS 18 YEARS AND OLDER ARE ELIGIBLE TO ACCESS FREE SERVICES UNDER THE PBF PROGRAM.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs recognizes the need to undertake various interventions to address the prevalence and impact of Diabetes and Hypertension in Saint Lucia. To this end, the Performance-Based Financing (PBF) Pilot Program was launched on June 29, 2023. This program is aimed at providing screening and treatment services for Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension.
Under the PBF Pilot Program, individuals who are 18 years and older will be eligible to access the services of screening and risk assessment and laboratory tests at NO COST.
These health services will be made available as of Tuesday August 15, 2023 at eight Community Wellness Centres. These health facilities are: La Croix Maingot Wellness Centre, Jacmel Wellness Centre, Richfond Wellness Centre, Dennery Hospital, Mon Repos Wellness Centre, Desruisseaux Wellness Centre, La Fargue Wellness Centre and Soufriere Hospital.
People residing in these communities are encouraged to access these available health services.
