THE MEDIA IS INVITED TO ATTEND.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs will launch an Early Warning System (EWS) on October 16.
The groundbreaking multi-agency network designed to monitor and respond to emerging drug threats and trends within Saint Lucia, will significantly enhance inter-agency communication, allowing for timely alerts and warnings, while improving intervention strategies to safeguard public health and safety.
The EWS is built on a robust surveillance system, with information sourced from clinical practitioners, forensic experts, national security, and border agencies, as well as community-based organizations. This comprehensive network will enable a coordinated, agile response to drug-related issues, minimizing potential risks and promoting greater awareness within the community.
The 9 a.m launch will be held at the Coco Palm Hotel, and will feature key stakeholders and speakers from various agencies involved in the EWS initiative.
The Ministry of Health looks forward to your attendance as it embarks on this important initiative to enhance the safety and well-being of all Saint Lucians. Please find order of procedings (PDF) attached.
