THE GOVERNMENT OF THE BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA SCHOLARSHIPS IN SPECIALITY OF COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY MEDICINE

The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour hereby informs of the Call for Scholarships by the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Castries.  The scholarships are being offered to pursue studies in the specialty of Comprehensive Community Medicine at the Dr. Salvador Allendre Latin American School of Medicine in Venezuela.

Duration
The scholarship programme is six and a half (6 ½ ) years, and the commencement of activities is scheduled for the First Trimester of the year 2015.

General Requirements
To apply for this study opportunity the applicant must meet the following requirements:
•    be citizens or permanent residents of Saint Lucia;
•    older than 18 years of age and not older than 24 years;
•    single marital status;
•    currently not studying;
•    graduated from high school less than 5 years ago;
•    physically and mentally healthy; and
•    from low-income households. 
 
Value of Scholarship
The scholarship provides for:
•    airline ticket (at the beginning and completion of studies);
•    lodging;
•    meals;
•    medical care;
•    monthly allowance; and
•    installation costs.

Application process:

1.    To apply for the scholarship applicants should contact the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela which is located in Vigie, Castries, telephone number (758)452-4033.  A website address will be provided to applicants in order to complete the registration form.  All records as indicated on the form should be completed.  Please note that to create a record applicants must have an active and valid personal email address.

2.    Once registered, applicants will be notified as to the results of the pre-selection via email. 

3.  Applicants will be given an appointment via email.  The email will state the date, time and venue of the interview.

4.  The final results will be published at the office of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.  Also an email will be sent to successful applicants.

5. If an applicant is selected they must be on the alert for a call from the Venezuelan Representative of the Embassy, and start preparing all documents that will be requested by the representative.
