The program is geared at equipping young people with the skills and resources to facilitate a successful entrepreneurship venture.

Minister for Agriculture, Food Production, Fisheries, Cooperatives and Rural Development, Hon. Moses Jn. Baptiste said the Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship Program will soon enter an active phase, as the legwork for the program is completed, and land acquired in Beausejour and River Doree.

"The equipment is here and we have built storage units for the equipment and the equipment will be utilized also for other programs. I am pleased that we have made some significant progress. The young people should look forward to starting and I’m happy that the infrastructure is actually on the ground."

He also sought to allay the concerns of participants in River Doree.

"As you know, the Government has made a decision to expand the current River Doree cemetery and there needs to be some adjustment, but the program will not be moved at all from River Doree. There needs to be some adjustment in terms of where the greenhouses will be placed and I know the youth who are involved in the River Doree situation are very anxious, but we will work with them to ensure that we meet both needs."
